The conference took place from 8th to 12th of May 2013 in the PARK hotel in Bled. At the conference there were two round tables, one organised by the Slovene PEN and the other by the WfPC. The themes of the round tables were: Literary Creation: From the Periphery to the Centre and The Writer as a Traveller Creating Peace.
This year we introduced a novelty: a panel discussion between the Chairs of different PEN Committees, members of the Board and the President of International PEN entitled the Role of PEN Today and in the Future. We are convinced that this "laboratory of ideas"has  contributed to the building of new strategies and the strengthening of ties between the different Committees.
